Sturminster Newton had 'one of those days' on Saturday as they were defeated 5-3 at Witchampton.

Stuart Frear and Rob Froud both had to score equalisers in the first period after poor defending had allowed Witchampton to score twice in the first half. With the scores finely poised at 2-2 at the interval, Witchampton took the lead just minutes into the second period and never looked back.

They added a fourth before a Steve Moore free kick made it 4-3 still with plenty of time remaining. However, the home side finished the scoring and went away with all three points.

"I'd like to apologise for our visiting supporters who came to watch that" said disappointed manager Gary Head. "We were woeful from start to finish and there will be some changes to our starting XI next week".

SNUFC: Robson, Hedges, W Gould (Batten), Carter, Froud, Sweatman, Moore, Proctor (Stockley), S Frear (Danoris), Budd (c), Moussalli. Subs not used: Williams, Manning.
