I would like to wish our supporters, staff and players a very Happy New Year.

It is a shame that we couldn't start the new year with three points on Saturday, but we eventually got a point from a game in which we surely deserved three. However, the support we recevied from everyone on the sidelines this weekend was fantastic. The noise I heard when we finally scored was exceptional, so I would like to thank everyone who cheered us on.  Dare I say it that this time last year, that would have been another one of those games where we would have given up int he final few minutes.  We were knocking on the door for virtually the whole half and eventually got some reward.

This weekend we turn our heads to the Dorset Senior Trophy, and our quarter-final clash with Weymouth Sports. I saw Weymouth Sports in the last round and they were very impressive. They also came to Barnet's Field a few weeks before Christmas and battered us 4-1. There is also the incentive of a potential home semi-final against local rivals Okeford, but I would like to keep our minds firmly on the game we have to play first. This semi-final could easily still be Weymouth Sports against Portland United Reserves. it is up to us to make sure we are in the final four of the competition. Despite the travelling distance, it would really boost the lads if we had some away support this weekend.

Players are reminded that training is on both Tuesday & Thursday this week, as it is every week. Tuesday at Clayesmore 5:45, and Thursday meeting at 6pm at the club.
