This is now half way through our season, we have to start to beleive in our own abillity to get away from the bottom of the league, we have better players than our league posistion shows, Rick , Derek and myself know that we can do better. Saturday was another disappointing and frustrating afternoon, typical of us, we have got to get that winning mentality into us we are better than a lot of the teams but our prefomances should last for 90 minutes not in ten minute spells or as on saturday for the last 30 mins of the first half. we have to raise our game the quality is there lets put it together for the second half of the season.
On Saturday for the first 15 mins we were awful and found ourselves 2-0 down, we then woke up and thought lets play football and we took control passing the ball around and creating many chances and after 30 mins we found ourselves level with goals from Teejay Smith-McFarlane his first for the club and a second from from a cross cum shot and a little help from there keeper by Clive Metcalfe, there were some good passing and good running off the ball ou r two men up front Teejay and Matt Elson causing crossways a lot of problems, we go it at half time all square at 2-2.
The second half was a little scrappy both sides making chances but not looking to break the deadlock, we did not come out and command as we did in the later half of the first, both sides making mistakes as they got near the penalty area, then with 7 minutes to go as usual we get struck with no luck as a long dipping shot goes over Matt Robson and clips the under side of the bar and rests in the back of the net. That inspired us and we dominated the last few minutes creatimg a few chances but unfortunately no goals to add to our tally. the final whistle goes and we have lost yet again by 3 goals to 2.
