The new year started well for us as after 4 minutes we went ahead with a good flowing move that ended with Mike Revell scoring this should have given us the inspiration but this had a reverse affect we didn't pass the ball well enough our movement was non exsistance we were second to the ball, but it was not until the 28th minute that Gillingham equalised then under constant pressure we conceded another 3 before half time it could have been worse as we kicked the ball off the line twice and a great stop by Matt Robson, so at half time we were down 4-1. The team had a roasting during the half time break, and this did have an effect on the lads as we played well throughout the second half if only we could have played the first half like we did the second, maybe it would have been a different scoreline. On the hour a goal from Rob Daintith made it 4-2. We were creating some chances and a shot from teejay just went wide but we were in the game unlike the first half, then with twelve minutes to go Giliingham scored there fifth, we still put in the effort but could not score. The positives to come out of the game is all the players know that providing they put in the effort we can match most teams in this league, and Alex Gould sidelined through injury for most of the season came through 45 mins without any trouble, hopfully Alex will get more minutes next week.
