Central defender Howard Batten is on his way back to Barnet's Field.

Howard made 20 starts and 8 substitute appearances for the Cherries last season scoring twice in the process.  He has been playing for Sherborne Town Reserves in the Dorset Premier League this season after deciding to leave Sturminster Newton United in the summer.

"We will welcome him back into the squad with open arms" said first team manager Gary Head.  "Like any new addition though, he will need to work hard to get into the squad, but he is a quality player who he can only make us better".

Sturminster Newton had also requested the transfer of last season's young player of the year, Luke Turk, but he has chosen to join our local rivals Okeford United instead.
